Every family we reach has a name and a need.
Dear friends,
The Noble Kashmir Foundation was set up in 2021 on a simple belief: the people of Jammu and Kashmir who are hit hardest by economic hardship, natural disaster and poverty should not have to face it alone.
Behind every case we take up is a person with a story and a need that cannot wait. For some it is food for the month. For others it is keeping a child in school, a medicine they cannot afford, or the training a young woman needs to earn her own living. We try to meet each of these needs with care, with clear accounts of where every rupee goes, and with respect for the dignity of the person in front of us.
As an advocate practising before the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, I see how much of the hardship people carry comes from circumstances they never chose. The law can sometimes open a door. Compassion has to help people walk through it. This foundation is my effort to do that part, alongside everyone who shares the same belief.
Our work rests on five commitments: humanitarian assistance, education, health and well-being, women’s empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods. None of them is enough on its own. A child who is fed but not schooled, or treated but unable to earn, still has need. We intend to keep working on all five together, and with other organisations and government agencies, so that help reaches the most vulnerable first.
I want to thank every donor, volunteer and partner who has stood with us. Your support is what turns our vision of a prosperous and peaceful Jammu and Kashmir, where every person has access to basic necessities, healthcare and education, into something we can see on the ground.
If you are thinking of giving, please know that no gift is too small. If you would like to know more about our work, our office in Brein, Nishat, Srinagar is open to you, and you can write to us at [email protected].
With gratitude and respect,
Ibrahim Javaid Shah
